Medical-strength chemical exfoliation to address sun damage, uneven tone, and dullness — formulated for high-UV environments.
A chemical peel involves precise application of an acidic solution to the skin, causing controlled exfoliation of the outer damaged layers. Depth of exfoliation — superficial, medium, or deep — is determined by acid type and concentration, selected by your dermatologist based on your skin tone, concern, and history. Peels used at Kaya are formulated for darker phototypes, reducing risk in the GCC context.
Acids break the bonds between dead skin cells, facilitating shedding and accelerating cell turnover. In deeper peels, collagen synthesis is also stimulated. Glycolic acid targets the epidermis; TCA reaches the superficial dermis; the physician selects depth and acid type based on your assessment findings.
Superficial peels: 2–3 days of mild flaking and redness. Medium peels: 5–7 days of visible peeling. Strict sun avoidance is essential for 4 weeks post-peel. No active skincare products for 3–5 days.
